Where is the Puck?

At the annual Fortune Brainstorm Tech conference last month, Cisco’s technology chief Padmasree Warrior said that the third phase of the Internet will be – its industrialization. According to Warrior, the first phase of Internet was all about productivity, the second phase has been geared toward collaboration, while the third phase will be all about industrialization of the Net: connecting devices, sensors and buildings to make smart, connected communites… providing for example data about the best time to travel downtown or do the laundry – essentially making us smarter citizens.
